Supporting School Success for Homeless Children of Veterans and Military Service Members – This brief from the National Center for Homeless Education provides educators and service providers with needed information about the educational rights of and supports available to children and youth experiencing homelessness, including homeless children of veterans and military service members, under Subtitle VII-B of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance. The brief also provides an overview of federal programs that target services specifically to the families of veterans with school age children.
Military One Source – This resource connects service members and their families with 24-hour support during emergencies. Additionally, Military One Source can connect families to educational liaisons and special needs consultants to assist military parents as they navigate the educational needs of their children.
