The Every Student Succeeds Act requires the disaggregation of achievement data for students experiencing homelessness (SEH) in the areas of reading, mathematics, and science. The Virginia Department of Education provides a Build-a-Table webpage that allows viewers to analyze achievement in a variety of ways. The graphs on this page were created using this resource.
These graphs illustrate pass rates for SEH compared to all public-school students and students identified as disadvantaged. Any grade level in which a state assessment is done is included in these summary graphs. The data are presented looking at the data in two ways. The first set of graphs represents only students who took a Standards of Learning (SOL) assessment.
Since some students use alternate assessment due to their needs, the second set of graphs represents pass rates for all students taking any type of assessment in the subject.
