Joanna McCue-Martin, McKinney-Vento liaison in Warren County Public Schools, recently partnered with a non-profit in her community that is dedicated to serving children in need and helping students build resilience. The Hike Kidz Foundation hosted a community event to assemble hygiene and art supply totes for The Nourished Nest, a resource room that Joanna and her team created to store hygiene supplies and shelf-stable food for students experiencing homelessness. The Hike Kidz Foundation also supported Warren County’s Glass Slipper room which offers formal wear to students in need. In addition, Joanna is working on a plan to provide these students with a shopping trip to purchase back-to-school clothing at the beginning of the school year.
